InfraRoute is primarily made for delivery companies, courier services, logistic services, parcel services, distributors and all others that deal with delivering of goods to their customers.
Even though there are common standards to address any shipment that has to be delivered to consignee, it is common (world-wide) that shippers use different sets of very heterogeneous addressing data for sending a shipment to one consignee at a specific address. That behavior leads to significantly denormalized address data in all logistics systems.
Extensive research by multiple authorities that explore addressing show that quality (validity) of 100% valid address data will decays at a rate of 17% per year in Europe (country dependent) for multiple reasons of which the following are to mention:
After analyzing more than 6.4 million of different addressing occurences in Croatia from various Infranet’s clients, in a year-long data science project, Infranet has found that only 24% of shipments are 100% addressed using valid addresses and only 43% of shipments are addressed using 11 easily computer-recognizable key-entry patterns. Additional meta-data is rarely used, but very valuable since it can can be used to overcome traditional routing issues (proof-of-concept on sample od 567k addresses reaches more than 94% correct addressed). Historical delivery data from shipping companies can be used to significantly increase routing data. Public data (public registries) from different sources, as well, can be used to significantly improve routing. Machine learning can be used to further improve data quality and maintenance.
After performing gap analysis, Infranet has used InfraRoute framework to developed a AngularJS web application using .NET technology with database running on Microsoft SQL Server with and with a Routing API. Also, Infranet has advanced Shipping API to be able to consume Routing API of InfraRoute.
