What does it meand and why do our customers need to understand that?

What are four pillars of Agile and what do they actually mean to us

  • we put our people and their interactions before processes and tools
  • we want working software before documentation
  • we put partnering up with our customers and collaborating with them before contract negotiations
  • we prefer to be able to respond to change, rather than blindly follow plans 

 

Individuals and interactions vs processes and tools

For us it means:

  • that our employees are those that produce software or render service, and tools without people are good-for-nothing

For us it does NOT mean:

  • that we would use tools that bring best in our people and avoid those that prove to be a hindrance to achieving our objectives 

Working software vs extensive documentation

For us it means:

  • that a good working software is one that does not need traditional documentation

For us it does NOT mean:

  • that we will produce a line of code without understanding why are we doing it

Collaboration with customers vs contract negotiations

For us it means:

  • that we want to understand the needs of our customers, build customer-centric product and provide customer-centric services rather than spending our resources in specifying every single word in a contract 

For us it does NOT mean:

  • that we will engage intro any collaboration with our customers with out a fair contract that protects our relationship with customer rather than protectin our customer or protecting us

Responding to change vs following a plan

For us it means:

  • that plans are sets of steps to achieve an objective that exist in real world: as world changes so the plans should change - we put objective first, and path to achieving the objective second

For us it does NOT mean:

  • that we will not wander, roam or ramble aimlessly to achieving our goals, but we will try to transform and detailed static plan into a dynamic strategy that satisfies both our customers and us
